CFS Specialist for Adults with Disabilities & Their Families

Coordinated Family Support, or CFS, is a pioneering service designed specifically for adults with developmental disabilities who choose to live with their families. This trailblazing service aids individuals and their families in coordinating and scheduling vital services and supports, ensuring that each person’s unique cultural, ethnic, and linguistic preferences are honored. CFS is all about delivering the right support in the right way within the familiar confines of one’s family home.

 

Your Duties: By teaching life skills, you will support your client’s dreams, personal advocacy, and Individualized Support Plan (ISP) goals. You will also assist with case management, connect clients with generic resources, and lead engaging individual and group learning experiences.

Your Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a human services field or three (3) years of relevant experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, or dual diagnoses

  • Drivers License 

  • Working vehicle, valid driver’s license, & valid auto insurance

  • Pass a criminal background check 

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • CPR and First Aid certification must be completed within 30 days of hire

Direct Support Professional, Entry Level

iWork Support Services, LLC. is seeking a caring, enthusiastic teammate to work with adults with intellectual disabilities, including individuals with mild to severe intellectual disabilities, Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, dual diagnoses, and other developmental disorders. As a Direct Support Professional, you will assist and teach job tasks and social skills to increase participants' independence at their job sites. You will provide intensive, individualized training on specific skills, including client assessment, counseling, intervention, and advocacy.

 

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

 

* Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to perform various job tasks, i.e., janitorial, food service, and clerical, to demonstrate to individuals.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to schedule changes.
*Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
* Compassion to treat developmentally disabled adults with dignity and respect
* Physically fit and comfortable with taking Public Transportation
* Provide constant awareness of the comfort and well-being of the individuals.
* Be able to work closely with adults with disabilities.
* Must be comfortable speaking to the public.

* Must have a reliable car, a valid California Driver's License, insurance, valid registration, and a good driving record.

Independent Living Skills (ILS) Educator, Entry Level

iWork Support Services, LLC. seeks a dedicated and compassionate Independent Living Skills (ILS) Educator to join our team. The ILS Educator will work closely with adults with developmental disabilities to teach essential life skills that foster independence, improve daily living, and enhance overall well-being. This role will involve providing individualized training in areas such as personal care, meal preparation, money management, transportation, and social skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one instruction to individuals with developmental disabilities in key areas of independent living, such as personal hygiene, cooking, budgeting, and navigating public transportation.

  • Develop and implement personalized ILS plans to help participants gain the skills needed for daily life and increased independence.

  • Support participants in goal-setting and tracking progress to ensure continuous development and achievement of milestones.

  • Create a supportive, respectful, and positive learning environment tailored to each participant’s unique needs.

  • Offer guidance in areas of social interaction and communication to promote confidence and self-advocacy.

  • Foster a strong relationship with participants and their support networks to ensure collaboration and success in achieving personal goals.

  • Document and track progress, adjusting training as needed to ensure optimal support.

  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of participants during training sessions.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Experience or training in teaching life skills, personal care, or vocational skills to individuals with disabilities.

  • Ability to create individualized plans that meet the diverse needs of participants.

  • Patient, compassionate, and understanding approach in teaching and interacting with participants.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and needs of participants.

  • Knowledge of community resources and how to integrate them into support plans.

  • Ability to maintain documentation and track the progress of participants' skills development.

  • Must have a reliable car, a valid California Driver's License, insurance, valid registration, and a clean driving record.

  • Ability to provide transportation services to participants when required.
